16 / 19IN DEVELOPMENTLive parts and proposed parts, each tagged
Risks
ProposedParts of this chapter are PROPOSED. Each proposed part is tagged where it appears; everything else describes what runs. Charging is off, TAON is not deployed, no TAO reserve exists and no audit has been done.
Your question is sent to the external provider that answers it. TAONIC’s records hold the request, its route and its cost, never the question or the answer.
A finished answer is held in the answering server’s memory for five minutes, so the same sender asking an identical question in that time reuses it instead of calling the provider again. Another sender never receives it. Each provider handles the question under its own terms.
| Route | Who receives the question |
|---|---|
| Text, through OpenRouter | OpenRouter, then Chutes on subnet 64, under their terms. |
| Text or media, Chutes direct | Chutes on subnet 64, under its terms. Not configured today. |
| Event forecasts | Nobody: TAONIC reads Numinous’ public list of events, matches your question to one on its own server, then asks Numinous for that event’s forecasts. The question is never sent. |
| Search, or engy text | Desearch or engy, under their terms. Not configured today. |
| Price forecasts | Synth receives only the asset’s name, never the question. Not configured today. |
| What | Where | How long |
|---|---|---|
| Request record: id, capability, route, provider, subnet, outcome, timing, tokens, cost | D1 database | Kept; no personal content |
| The finished answer, for reuse by the same sender asking it again | Server memory | 5 minutes |
| Your own request records (ids, outcomes, timing, usage) | Your browser tab (sessionStorage) | Until the tab closes |
| A hash of your connection address, for rate limiting | Server memory | One minute window |
| The question and the answer | Nowhere | Not kept |
Accounts
Accounts are off. When they are on, an account holds an email address and its own request history; a sign-in link is stored only as a hash, and sessions are revocable rows.
No trackers
TAONIC loads no analytics, advertising or third-party scripts. Fonts are self-hosted, and the pages fetch only from TAONIC’s own origin.
- Answers can be wrong. They come from models and miners TAONIC does not control; check anything that matters against the sources an answer names.
- Forecasts are forecasts. A miner’s probability or a price range is not a prediction TAONIC stands behind, and not advice.
- Providers change. A route can fail, change its terms or its price, or stop serving; the router falls back where it can and says so where it cannot.
- The economic layer is a proposal. Nothing on TAONIC is an offer, a solicitation or financial advice, and no token, reserve or return exists.
These belong to the proposed design in chapters 11 to 15. None of it runs, so none of these has happened. They are listed so the proposal is judged with them.
| Risk (PROPOSED design) | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Too little revenue | Modelled break-even is roughly $400 of pack sales a month at the proposed capability prices to cover running costs, and roughly $7,200 to also pay one developer $6,000 a month (PROPOSED prices, modelled, not measured). Observed use is 45 requests in total, all free, so the demand behind any scenario is an assumption and a reserve may never fill. |
| Resale margin and one upstream dependency | The only connected route that could be charged for text is OpenRouter pinned to Chutes (subnet 64): a model anyone can call through OpenRouter directly. The proposed Answer price of $0.01 is about 79 times the measured cost of $0.000126 per answer (calculated from 20 answers), which is why it is set against the long-prompt worst case, not the mean. Written resale terms from OpenRouter and Chutes do not exist, and 23 of the 45 requests so far were not answered. Until they do, and reliability and willingness to pay are measured, the paid router is a hypothesis. |
| Willingness to pay is unmeasured | The loop has no verified input until paying customers exist. A general router already offers part of this. |
| Receipts are TAONIC’s own | A provider does not sign them, so a receipt carries no evidence beyond TAONIC’s book. |
| Custody | A reserve with no tested recovery is a top risk. No TAO may be bought until a signer set exists and a recovery drill passes. |
| Thin market and a bypassable hook | If a TAON market were ever opened, anyone could open a second pool without TAONIC’s hook, and bridged TAO on Robinhood Chain is a small, unconfirmed counter-asset. |
| Legal and tax | Prepaid credit, a TAO treasury and any token raise questions for qualified counsel. No conclusion is drawn here. |
| Product-side accounting defects | Known defects in period cut-off, unknown costs and refunds must be fixed before today’s figures can support a financial decision. |
Every state on this page matches Status. Where they ever differ, Status is right and this page is a defect.
