What TAONIC does
TAONIC routes intelligence across specialized providers and Bittensor subnets.
Do this work on a Bittensor route, and hand back a record of who did it, what it cost and how long it took. You ask once, in plain language. TAONIC works out what kind of work the question needs, sends it to a provider or a Bittensor subnet that does that work, and returns the answer with its record.

| Step | What happens |
|---|---|
| Question | You ask once, in plain language. |
| Capability | TAONIC reads what kind of work the question needs. |
| Route | It picks an available route for that work, with a fallback. |
| Provider | A provider or Bittensor subnet does the work. |
| Answer | The result comes back with its provenance. |
| Record | The request, its route and its cost are recorded. |
The homepage draws the middle of this path as the Route Decision: Request, Candidates, Selected route, Execution, Result and Receipt. Every step there is computed from the same rules the gateway follows.
- One place to ask for several kinds of work, instead of one integration per subnet.
- A fallback: if the selected route fails, the next eligible route answers, and the record says so.
- A record per request that TAONIC keeps, with the provider’s reported cost, so spend is readable in one ledger.
- Not a Bittensor subnet. It runs no miner or validator.
- Not a partner of any provider it routes to. It is a customer of each.
- Not a deployed financial protocol. Charging is off.
- Not an official Bittensor product, and not an official Robinhood product.
Not deployed: TAON token; TAON/TAO pool; Uniswap v4 hook; Fee collector; Onchain reserve; Staking; Reward index; Claim contract; Automated TAO purchasing; Public audit. These are described only in the proposal chapters, labelled PROPOSED; see 17 Status.
